The $125 Caviar Twinkie for CHOC

One of the OC Fair’s newest buzz-worthy foods, the $125 Caviar Twinkie, even piqued the interest of Time magazine; it's the novelty fair food of the summer.

Just when you thought it's another gimmicky over-the-top fair treat, it's not--entirely. Charles “Chicken Charlie” Boghosian created the decadent Twinkie with a layer of caviar on top in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the OC Fair running now through Aug. 16.

Charlie wanted to make sure that the item had a purpose behind it; so all proceeds from the $125 Caviar Twinkie go to Children's Hospital of Orange County.

Charlie is a father and so it's an important goal for him, to help kids.

My FAVE TK Noodle Grill

With locations in Irvine, Garden Grove, and Westminster, TK Noodle and Grill serves up a variety of Vietnamese dishes but it is especially a great location if you’re looking to eat vermicelli beef soup (bun bo hue), spring rolls and my favorite entrée, a delicious treat called Banh Beo.

Banh Beo is a small steamed doughy rice cake served on little saucers. It originates from the central city of Hue in Vietnam. Banh Beo toppings vary but at TK Noodle and Grill, you will find them topped with crispy shallots, bite-size shrimp and bits of fried pork skin accompanied with a side of light fish sauce. This treat is best as a light meal for one, or as an appetizer to share among friends. One order comes with five cakes for only $3.
